  Economic Integration and Conversion in the EU Member States

  The paper supports the understanding that accepting one or another theoretical formulation about the convergence processes feel deeply about the formation of the EU regional policy, respectively for its effectiveness. The relation between the economic development and the convergence within the EU were analysed in the light of the two main theoretical directions (the neoclassical one and the new economic theories). Their correspondence to the empirical results is critically evaluated. The positive and the negative consequences related with the development of the integration processes have been investigated. Finally some conclusions are drawn as regards the applicability of the convergence hypothesis and the formation of the EU regional policy.

  Equilibrium Model in a Monetary Economy

  The paper consists of three parts. In the first part a monetary economy, based on credit money, is introduced. All financial instruments are considered as substitutes for money. In the second part the possibility of equilibrium convergence, under certain conditions, is studied. The conclusion is that that the equilibrium convergence requires monetary velocity acceleration. The velocity of money is introduced as complex variable derived as a solution of a matrix equation and implying the existence of closed money circulation cycles. The third part is dedicated to the interplay between the real and the financial sectors under the process of equilibrium convergence and economic stabilization. Keynesian, monetarist and real business cycle type of stabilization are studied. The conclusion about the possibility of the destabilizing role of the financial sector is drawn.

  Prerequisites for "Green" Employment in Bulgaria

  The opportunities for "green" employment and economy have been investigated in this article. They could be used to restructure the economy and overcome the crisis. The concept of "green" employment, with prerequisites and trends for its development in Bulgaria is presented. The various aspects of the problems related to this kind of employment are highlighted with the high degree of relativity of the definitions of "green" jobs. The necessity of development of quality "green" jobs is focused, based on the involvement of up-to-date technologies. The environmentally friendly industries and employment could be the comparative advantages of the national economies, based on knowledge.

  Alternative Limited Cognitive Opportunities of the Herfindal-Hirschman Index for Studying Irregularities

  A single methodological approach is presented to study structural changes and irregularities, based on the Euclidean distance and the possibility to decompose the total structural change into 2 factor impacts: d3 - changing the irregularity degree and d4 - changing the irregularity direction. The cognitive opportunities of the Herfindal-Hirschman Index to study the irregularities are elucidated therein. It was proven that only the factor impact d3 is recorded by means of this index.
  Arguments are provided for the necessity to record the dimensions of the statistic structure in the course of assessment of the irregularity degree of evolving complex processes and phenomena, characterized by internal structure. The Euclidean distance is applied to elaborate a table for limiting 3 degrees of irregularities according to the size of the tested statistical structure.

  Reconsidering the Role of Quantitative Patterns and Behavior Approaches in Strategic Corporate Management

  The author has defended his thesis that the quantitative methods are applicable for routines under sustainable environment conditions. However in case of a dynamic environment the attempts to optimize the strategic management by means of such patterns result in inefficient management decisions. The optimization of the corporate behavior and strategy is believed to be subordinated to the ability of the corporate managers and members to consider the real dynamics of the changing environment, not the fictitious one. It is achieved by analyzing the interaction among the elements of the cognitive structure, generating the strategic corporate management.

  Preventive Detection of Economic Problems by means of Neuron Networks

  The methods of detecting economic problems at different levels are focused in this study with comments on their restrictions and shortcomings. A common analysis scheme is offered, using artificial intelligence systems - neuron networks, where the available patterns could be integrated and supplemented. A pattern is proposed to study the market index development and to analyze any potential collapses, which was tested to analyze the SOFIX index under the capital market conditions in Bulgaria.
